Our Focus
Our priority is to share the good news about Jesus with those who have little opportunity to hear. There are about 6,000 of these least reached people groups in the world. About 2/3 of those are in the Asian Region.
Taiwan has a population of 23.4 million people. About 2/3 identify themselves as being Minnan, a distinct ethnic Chinese people group. Because of the standard of living of most with whom we are living, we frequently refer to them as the working class Taiwanese.
The Minnan are a Least Reached People Group (LRPG). In the areas where we live and work, they are less than 0.5% Christian. Less Christian believers means that people have fewer naturally occurring opportunities to hear the gospel.
That is why as international workers such as us are being sent from Canada to Taiwan to share the gospel cross-culturally. We want more people to be able to hear the good news about Jesus.

Our plan
Two locations have been selected for focus by our Canadian international worker team. Albert and Elaine Lu are overseeing the Chiayi County work in MinXiong Township. Lorne and Kathy-Lu White are living in Baozhong Township (pictured), a Taiwanese farming town. The majority of the residents in both locations are a part of the Taiwanese working class.
Through friendships, community participation, sponsoring community events, and the start of a church we are seeking to achieve the goal stated in our Vision Prayer:
“O Lord, for Your glory, grow reproducing communities of disciples, transformed by Christ, transforming working class Taiwan and the world.”

We are involved in the community in different ways:
- English Clubs in Elementary Schools
- Summer Camps for Children and Youth
- Providing care for individuals and families
- Helping to establish a Taiwanese Church in the community

Hidden In Plain Sight is an initiative of the Christian and Missionary Alliance in Canada to start churches among the working class people of Taiwan.
