2014 Update #8

The big news this week is that we helped the church that meets in our home purchase a drinking water machine (photo).  This has been on the to-do list for some time.  It will provide filtered and boiled water that is safe for drinking without a lot of effort from us.  We will be well-prepared for the short-term teams that will visit us in July and August, and will use it regularly as we entertain guests in our home.

 

Next week Kathy-Lu and Elaine will attend the C&MA Women Coworkers Retreat.  This is attended by women pastors, pastor’s wives, and our women international workers.  This year they will begin by visiting each of the church plants in Yunlin County, including Baozhong Alliance Church.  The plan is to let these women leaders see the location of the works and pray at each site.  Then they will go to a hostel to spend more time together praying and encouraging one another.

Friday, February 28 is a national holiday in Taiwan.  It is Peace Day.  It is a time when Taiwanese remember some difficult times in their history and vow that it will never happen again.  We realize that true peace does not come from within, but from the Prince of Peace.  Please pray that Taiwanese would find the peace that exceeds all understanding.
