2015 Vol.41

Thank you for taking time to pray for us during the past week.  It is appreciated.

As we move into this new week, we are preparing for Christmas carolling on Saturday (19th).  The weather has turned cooler (15-24 degrees), but is not yet considered “very cold” by Taiwan standards.  We are praying that it does not rain and that it does not get colder for Saturday.

Some of the children are unable to attend the carolling event because of scheduled tutorial school classes.  Parents pay for children to be coached in English, math, and other subjects. Please pray that the children who do not have such a time conflict will attend on Saturday, and that even their families will come as well.

We have prepared more than 500 candy bags each with a gospel tract.  Please pray for receptive hearts and a willingness to read the tracts.  Pray for God’s Spirit to work, creating blessing in those people’s lives.

The biblical Christmas story tells us about a number of people who received life-changing news.  Some happily received the good news about the Savour.  For others, the news was good but included some challenges.  Mary and Joseph accepted their roles with faith and obedience, but would have faced public shaming for having a child prior to marriage.   And there were some, like King Herod, who had a hard time with the news and resisted the change it was bringing.  Those in the story who lived life by faith in God fared better than those who did not.  May your faith in Jesus, the Saviour of the world, help you in the various joys and challenges of the season.
