I picked up a book from my shelf. It is one I want to read for personal learning. It is: Hijacked By Glory by Sunder Krishnan. In the “Acknowledgements” he quotes some influential leaders and some of the “priceless one-liners that have helped [him] stay on track.”
I draw your attention to this one:
- Prayer is a wartime walkie-talkie to enable us to stay in touch with command headquarters to receive marching orders for the battle, but we have turned it into a domestic intercom to make life more comfortable in the den. (John Piper, The Pleasures of God)
The sentence challenged me. It also reminded me that we need to pray, and we need others to pray. That is why you are receiving this “Monday with the Whites.”
- Will you pray right now?
- Will you pray for us each week?
- Will you join those who pray for us each day?
