2015 Vol. 36

Beginning Sunday, Nov. 8 our Sunday morning small group will be watching segments of the Hope Video and having a discussion.  Please pray that this will help people better understand the Bible and its message.  We are hoping that friends interested in knowing about Christianity may be willing to come and watch it with us.

We have expanded the children’s library at the church.  The children will be able to look at the books during the adult discussion time on Sunday mornings.  We are also planning a system for children to borrow the books.  Please pray that this will be a positive step in helping the children learn more Bible stories and come to faith in Christ.

We are excited that one of the schools where we teach and tell Bible stories has asked Kathy-Lu to record the stories so that students can hear the stories repeatedly.  It will give the children an opportunity to both listen to a native-speaker speaking English and to learn the details of the stories.  Please pray for us as we work on the logistics of how to best accomplish this.

How much to your know about Taiwan?  Here is a link to some interesting facts about Taiwan https://goo.gl/0XUka2  (link is to a FaceBook page, so you will need to be signed in to FB to read it) -thanks to my daughter-in-law Bethany for finding this.

Ancient Path BookletsA gofundme campaign has been launched to put 150,000 of “The Ancient Path” tracts in the hands of South East Asians who have never heard the full story of Jesus. Hundreds of pastors and evangelists are waiting for this tract to give out for Christmas. Please share this with your Christian friends. Thank you!  https://www.gofundme.com/ancientpath.  (The C&MA in Canada partners with other groups in Vietnamese Diaspora Ministry based from Taiwan.  This is an initiative of that ministry.)

We are thankful that a short term team will be coming from Richmond BC to participate in our third “Prayer Summit”  (November 11-17).  They will be praying for us, the church, and the community.. The participant workbooks are almost complete and will be printed later this week.  Some additional materials have been ordered and will hopefully arrive soon.  We have requested that the team members help us during the Saturday children’s ministry while they are here.  Local workmen are supposed to have the roof repairs completed the day before the team arrives.  We are thankful for how God is bringing all the details together.  Please pray for us as we do the final hospitality preparations this week.
