Coldest weather in 10 years, or….
Taiwan is not as cold as where many of you live, but record-setting lows are being experienced. Depending on whom we are talking to, it is the coldest in 10 years, or 30 years, or 100 years. Snow has been seen in some of the cities, but Baozhong only had a few minutes of hail so far. The predictions are for two more days of cold weather. There is no central heat in the homes. We are making use of small space heaters, but many Taiwanese do not have those.
Potluck Blessing
The potluck was a great success. Even though it was cold outside, family and friends of members joined in and seemed to have a good time. There was abundant food, laughter, and fellowship.
Giving Update
Our God still does miracles today! We heard that the giving in December surpassed the $2.6 million dollars needed to meet the faith goal. The budget was met and pending cutbacks will not happen. THANK-YOU!
We also want to share with you about another need. The time is approaching when we must replace our car. To purchase a quality used car that will hopefully serve us for about another ten years, we need CAD$10,000.00. Those funds will be added to some funds on hand to purchase a vehicle that will be used for personal and ministry use. Thank-you for praying about this need. If you desire to contribute, please designate your donation as: “Taiwan: White Car Fund”.
Giving can be done through your local Alliance Church or online at: http://www.cmacan.org/give
Strategic Planning
Our team of missionaries will hold a strategic planning retreat on February 2-3. Please pray that God will guide our hearts to set achievable goals that He has for the Baozhong Church work. Pray as planning and reflection about these matters happens even before the retreat dates.
Thank-you for your ongoing commitment to be on mission together with God and us through prayer.
